Ferny Fireballs Celebrate
30 Years |
 |
The 2007/2008 season sees the Ferny Districts Cricket Club celebrating 30 years of providing junior cricketers in the region with
outstanding facilities and support. From humble beginnings, established in 1977, the club has grown
in membership and infrastructure to be able to provide one of the best junior cricket
centres in the state, placing more than its fair share of junior players
into representative sides, while at the same time, retaining its focus on ensuring
that its young players first and foremost, enjoy and appreciate the game of cricket.
The Fireballs committee is dedicated to making sure this season goes off with as
much enthusiasm and entertainment as possible, so keep an eye out throughout the
season for lots of events and activities to celebrate and commemorate this milestone. |

Off Season Action
During the off-season Australian Agricultural Company (AAC) and Elders played their
annual charity match at the Ferny homeground. Among the players were a couple of
familiar faces, namely Glenn McGrath playing for Elders and Ian Healy playing for
AAC. Elders Team Captain and Ferny club member Tony Gooden, who organised the event,
said the day was a huge success and that batting with Glenn was a wonderful experience
and a personal highlight. The day was a charity event to raise funds for the McGrath
Foundation.

Want to See Yourself on the Web?
Got a "classic pic" of your son or daughter executing the perfect cover
drive or a spectacular action shot of a diving catch at gully? Did you manage
to snap your coach having a "nap" under a tree during the game? Want to get
some serious credit for your photographic abilities?
As a regular feature on this website, we are looking to showcase our teams in
action through digital images that you have taken throughout the year. If you
have any digital photos that you would like to see on the front page of the
Fireballs website, send them through to us at
webmaster@fernyfireballs.org.au along with the photographer's name, a
very short description the team the subject(s) belong to and what is
happening.
There are some conditions (of course)!
As you can imagine, we need to be very careful when displaying photos on a
website, especially where underage children are the main subject. Therefore,
any photo submitted needs to be of Ferny club players, and/or associates only.
We cannot display any images that contain other club members. You also need to
ensure that all persons contained in the photo have given their permission to
be displayed on the website. Please make sure you discuss this with your
players and their families before sending in the pics. Descriptions of
submitted photos will only contain team names and situational descriptions. No
player names will be used.
